White Castle is expected to bring its hamburgers back to Florida this spring.

An invitation-only groundbreaking is scheduled to take place Nov. 19 for the new restaurant, which will begin construction in the O-Town West development on Daryl Carter Parkway near Disney World.

“Our opening is scheduled for spring of 2021 – so full steam ahead,” White Castle vice president Jamie Richardson said in an email.

The 4,567-square-foot restaurant is billed as the Columbus-based chain’s largest free-standing White Castle.

It is also a return to Florida for the business, which operated in Miami in the 1960s before leaving the state.

The new White Castle, which is expected to create 120 jobs, will feature two drive-through lanes along with both indoor and outdoor seating, according to a news release.
