The sun will be out in Nottingham today (April 12) as pub gardens and restaurants reopen their outdoor areas to thirsty and hungry guests.

From today, hospitality venues can serve customers outdoors and personal care businesses and gyms can reopen.

People will also be able to visit swimming pools and non-essential shops in England.

And ‘self-contained’ accommodation - like holiday lets without shared facilities - can also reopen as part of step two.

Zoos and theme parks can reopen, with social distancing in place.

Although sunny for most of the day, it'll be worth wearing a few layers if you're sat outside as it's only expected to get up to 9C in the city this afternoon.

Conditions will get cloudier as the day goes on in the city but it doesn't look like there will be any rain.

Here's the outlook for the wider region according to the Met Office

Today:

A dry and frosty, but mostly sunny start with light winds. Some cloud bubbling up from late morning with sunny spells and perhaps a few isolated showers by the afternoon. Still rather cold, but feeling warmer in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Soon becoming dry this evening with skies clearing across most parts. Widely very cold and frosty overnight, especially in eastern areas. Light winds. Minimum temperature -5 °C.
Tuesday:

A largely sunny morning after a very cold start. Cloudier by the afternoon, with the odd shower, but still some decent spells of sunshine around. Winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Some isolated daytime showers, otherwise mainly dry with decent sunny or clear periods. Daytime temperatures near normal. Overnight frosts with some mist and fog, though soon clearing by day.
