It was a good day at The Cork as they opened up their doors at 75% capacity.

"We started right at ten o'clock today, and we had groups coming in right at ten. We were busy all the way through 2 o'clock, said The Cork’s general manager, Michael Keller.

Pennsylvania restaurants eased many pandemic restrictions on April 4th, allowing bar service to resume and no food order required to get a drink.

"It's been over a year now, and we have a lot of guests that like to stop in and have a beverage and sit at the bar. It's a little familiar for people. A lot of people are over just sitting in a restaurant, so I think they'll be really excited to have that back,” said Keller.

While this restaurant didn't resume bar seating for the Easter holiday, they're excited to break out the bar stools Monday.

The Cork says they're really excited for the weather to keep warming up, so they can use their patio. They say it will really help with social distancing and make everyone feel safe.

Lifted restrictions also paved the way for a lighter atmosphere. "We also had live music today, and that was the first time we were able to bring that back since COVID started, so that was exciting for us."

Keller says the live band made the restaurant feel normal again, and diners enjoyed it, too. "We had a lot of guests cheering, clapping after some songs. So, I think they enjoyed it, as well. It's just another dynamic we like to offer here."

Going forward, they're optimistic 75% will go well. They can't wait to fill the restaurant at 100% someday soon. "Guests seem to be a lot more comfortable now. You can just kind of tell from the pulse of the restaurant. People are hanging out a little bit longer and with more friends and stuff. I think people are just starting to get back to a little bit of normalcy, so that's a good sign I think,” said Keller.
