A new "authentic" Korean deli is due to open in Liverpool city centre.

Inside, boxes of ceramic tiles are waiting to be laid while appliances are ready to be installed.

Korean cuisine is incredibly popular and is largely centred on rice, vegetables, seafood and meat.

When Moiim Deli opens, it will offer Korean classics, alongside soups, stews, fresh kimchi, noodles, bento boxes, vegan options and more.

The venue will be a welcome addition to Liverpool's thriving food and drinks scene, particularly after a year dominated by the coronavirus pandemic.

The outbreak of the deadly virus has had a significant impact on the hospitality industry, with bars, restaurants, cafes and more forced to shut their doors as part of preventative lockdown meaures.

In some instances, the pandemic has led to the permanent closure of independent shops, businesses, restaurants and more.

On April 12, we reached Step 2 in the Government's roadmap out of lockdown which saw venues permitted to offer alfresco drinking and dining.

From May 17, we are, provisionally, due to reach Step 3 of the Government's roadmap, which eases the limits on seeing family and friends and allows indoor hospitality to resume.

At this stage, most legal restrictions on meeting others outdoors will be lifted, although gatherings of over 30 people will remain illegal.
