A new pizza restaurant in Glasgow are celebrating the opening of their doors with £5 pizza next week.
Sourdough pizza pioneers, Franco Manca, have just opened on Mitchell street and will be serving sourdough pizza (including the new meat, veg & vegan specials) for just £5 between Monday 14 until Sunday 20 June.
The pizzeria has also linked up with Glasgow-based food charities Launch Foods and Glasgow NE Foodbank to donate food supplies to those in need on an ongoing basis in the city now they have joined the city co-hort of pizzerias.
Launch Foods has been working hard since 2018 to feed more than 300 children in Glasgow every day. They work on maximising food surplus by feeding children in Glaswegian communities with free hot nutritious food after their school day and during the holidays.
Glasgow NE Foodbank works to provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in need. They are also part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Matteo Fazio, Franco Manca’s Glasgow Manager, said: "Our sourdough, unique to Franco Manca, has already risen on Scottish soil but it goes without saying that we’re honoured to be expanding into the wonderful city of Glasgow, and to be able to support the community via local food banks.
"We can’t wait to make some new friends in and around the area so If you’re passing by, please do drop in, say hi and enjoy pizza on the menu for just £5 to celebrate the launch.”
