A brand new festival which promises 'movie magic' is coming to Colchester this summer.

The 'Colchester Open Air Film & Street Food Festival' is a collaboration between Colchester Events and Pop-Up Pictures.

It will be four days long, and held in Colchester Castle Park.

Across the long weekend, 14 classic films will be played, and a range of amazing street food will be for sale.

The big LED screen will see family friendly films Lion King and Jungle Book on the Friday for their special 2-4-1 'Kids Club' day.

On the Saturday, the festival will host a 'Brunch Club', showing Mamma Mia and Dirty Dancing.

This street food market with a proud 'support local' ethos will be open whenever films are showing for movie-goers and other visitors in the town.

The savoury line-up includes The Flag Burger, Cowabunga Pizza, Mauritian Nutrition, Sweet P's BBQ & soul food, Suffolk Spice Fusion and one more to be announced.

For those with a sweet tooth you can try Obscene Waffles and Ravenous Fudge.

You can't however take your own alcohol into the festival but there will be a licensed bar to buy from.

The 'Colchester Open Air Film & Street Food Festival' is scheduled for Thursday August 5 - Sunday August 8.

Tickets cost as little as £9.50 per adult for early bird access and are on sale now.
