Villalobos, a Mexican restaurant in Montclair, has permanently closed.
After suspending service in May, chef and owner Adam Rose will not reopen the restaurant, he said in a news release.
Villalobos had been open for nearly seven years and was located at 6 South Fullerton Ave.
Rose said he plans to keep the building space, even though Villalobos is closed. He will introduce a new concept in partnership with Montclair Hospitality Group and Ani Ramen House, which has several locations in New Jersey.
“I love being part of the community here. Fortunately, I will be able to bring a new project to life in this room, on this block,” Rose said. “I can’t say anything more about it now — but I can’t wait to open the doors again.”
