The liquor license for a restaurant named Route 99 was suspended, but it's not the one in Brooks. Rather, the order impacts Route 99 Roadhouse, located in Canby.

On Feb. 2, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission suspended the license of Route 99 Roadhouse in Clackamas County for not following public health social distancing and face covering requirements.

The OLCC received complaints that the Canby restaurant was allowing groups of customers to gather and consume food and alcohol inside the restaurant.

During an in-person inspection, OLCC inspectors observed a large group of both patrons and employees  inside the business socializing and consuming food and drink without masks.

When the OLCC shared the news of the restaurant's liquor license suspension today, some have confused it with Route 99, Annette's Day's newly-opened restaurant in Brooks.

Day said she's fielded several calls from vendors and customers concerned about her. She learned the news  when she received a phone call from the owner of a wine shop, "a lady from LaGrande called me this morning and asked how I was going to handle my liquor license suspension."

Day is working quickly to set the record straight. "It is not us, no OLCC inspector has come in to say we're not adhering to COVID-19 rules."

She's put out the following statement to the business' Facebook page, "Loyal customers, there has been some confusion in the air regarding Route 99’s liquor license. We want to assure you that is not us here in Brooks! We are fully licensed and maintaining all covid restrictions and have all of our licenses, to serve you, legally, outdoors. See you soon!"

Reached via phone, she said, "I actually think this is funny."
