Houston Restaurant Week is making its widely awaited return this year starting Aug. 1 and will run through Sept. 6.

The month-long food event was created by the Cleverley Stone Foundation in an effort to support the Houston Food Bank. This year, the charitable event will offer multiple options for Houston foodies, including multi-course prix fixe menus for brunch, lunch and dinner.

For 2021, Houston Restaurant Weeks’ motto, "Dine Out and Do Good" has changed to "Take Out and Do Good" in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only will HRW specials be available for dine-in, but takeout options will also be available.

This year, a dollar from each meal purchased at participating restaurants will be donated to the Houston Food Bank. Compared to past years, the donation amount is smaller, but the list of Houston restaurants participating is bigger.

More than 250 restaurants are expected to participate in this year's HRW.

Multi-course meals have varying price points. According to a press release, four-course meals will cost $49, with a $5 donation going to the food bank. Three-course meals cost $35, with a $3 donation. Meals like brunch and lunch are priced at $20 and will have a $1 donation.

Founded by the late Cleverly Stone, affectionately called the "Diva of Dining," the philanthropic effort has brought in more than $16.6 million for the food bank. the Houston Chronicle's Preview reported. Stone passed away in May of last year after a battle with cancer. Her daughter, Katie Stone, took over after her passing.

"I am humbled and in awe of what has happened for restaurants here in Houston this past month," Stone said in a press release. "HRW came this year at a time that could not have been more crucial, and I am so inspired and so grateful to be able to continue my mother's cause of feeding families in Houston."

Beginning July 15, diners can visit the HRW website to view the list of participating restaurants and menus. Restaurants will be added to the site through Aug. 1.
