Picture this: the hustle and bustle of the city centre buzzes as you sip an Aperol Spritz in a sunny beer garden with your pals.

No this isn't 2019, this is NEXT WEEK as lockdown eases and hospitality industry begins its long-awaited return from Monday.

And now one popular St Andrew Square restaurant has announced that it'll be reopening its doors with a spacious outdoor terrace, right in the heart of the city centre.

The Refinery will reopen on Thursday, April 29 - just in time for Bank Holiday Weekend - and it comes complete with a new Aperol Garden.

The city centre venue was originally set to open on May 17 in line with Scotland's further lockdown easing (including the sale of alcohol indoors), but thanks to the extension of the Aperol Terrace the restaurant will now be opening next Thursday from 3pm.

It then opens from 11am on the Friday and 9am on the Saturday and Sunday - which is giving us instant inspiration for our first post-lockdown brunch.

Kitted out with an abundance of bright blooms, vibrant orange parasols, bunting, and fairy lights, the new Aperol Garden Terrace is described as the perfect place to relax with an aperitivo in hand.

The Refinery management have confirmed that following government guidelines, the strictest health and safety protocols have been put in place.
