News Source/Courtesy: www.chicagotribune.com

From Christmas goose to cookie-decorating kits to bottled cocktails, Chicago-area restaurants are ready to meet your Christmas needs. The 56 restaurants here offer full meals (either fully or partially prepared, with heating instructions where needed) and/or a la carte menus covering Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners, with some throwing in breakfast or brunch as well. Check with restaurants for ordering dates; many have early deadlines. Also check which restaurants offer pickup or delivery or both.

With the demand for takeout higher than ever because indoor dining is shut down in the state, some area restaurants have been overwhelmed with orders during the holiday rush. Here are some tips restaurant owners have offered to make ordering takeout smoother: Order well in advance. Call to place the order and pick it up yourself. Don’t call several times to make changes. Check the order and pickup dates and times. Remember to tip. If you’re doing a curbside pickup, leave a 10% to 20% tip in a clearly marked envelope in your trunk.
