Restaurateur Dave Garner and his business partner have opened a restaurant on Fort Worth’s buzzy Magnolia Avenue, according to CultureMap Fort Worth.

Garner, the owner of the popular Wildwood Grill locations in Southlake and Garland, is expanding on his Southern fare repertoire with Maggie’s R&R, located in the former Southside Rambler and La Zona space at 1264 W. Magnolia Ave.

Maggie’s has a large patio where diners can take in the Magnolia Avenue vibes, as well as items such as smoked chicken wings, Firecracker taquitos and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich.

Garner’s partner in the new restaurant is Christopher Gainey, a longtime friend who was recently vice president of operations for BoomerJacks Grill & Bar, CultureMap reports.

Garner debuted Wildwood in Southlake in 2009, telling KTVT-TV (CBS 11) about its beginning: “We had oak and hickory on the grill outside and we had a smoker in the backyard. We literally sampled and played with the menu for nearly four months before we opened.”

He’s since added a location at Firewheel Town Center in Garland. Both have adapted since COVID hit, offering an extensive curbside, contact-free menu. Dining room mainstays have transitioned to carry-out containers featuring ribeyes, pecan chicken and skillet baked macaroni and cheese (minus the skillet).
